I'd play around with the colors in the background, as well as what I mentioned in the other reply. I made a new layer with dark corners. I also got some pretty intense old film textures I like using from bittbox [link]
And I guess if you're that interested I could try making a tutorial.

This is really cool. You don't often see a fusion of drawing and textures like this that give it that dynamic wallpaper feel. It's unusual and I like it!
