Sometimes I remember fondly when I had time to keep up with everyone here on Deviantart........ yes those were the days.
I've been busy being a college student and at times, even an adult! But not usually.

I can't say I've been doing a lot of art lately. I've been teaching myself to play guitar, which is why I don't spend as much time drawing. I've done doodles here and there and I even took an art class, which I did quite a bit of art in. 
Other than those things, I've been working and studying (a lot about the Middle East), and I'll be going to Jordan soon (in 2 weeks, actually) on another study abroad! SOMETIMES LIFE JUST MOVES SO FAST MAN.
My major is officially International Politics and Middle Eastern Studies, with hopes of becoming an ambassador or even a diplomat.

Anyway, I thought I should make sure that if anyone's still around I would let you know where you can actually find me, although I have been slowly disappearing from those places too.

My future art plans? Well, as I get better at guitar I hope to start writing my own music. Maybe without the hope of going anywhere with it, but an ultimate goal of mine is to perform a song on stage somewhere. I also plan to learn how to play the Oud while in Jordan, which is similar to a lute. Here's a video:


I hope to keep drawing and painting every once in a while. If I could do it once a day, that would be awesome, but I don't even get a chance to practice guitar most days. 

As I've been gone for many a month, I'm definitely wondering what everyone has been up to. Considering the fact that I had over 3,000 messages when I logged on, I don't know if I'll get a chance to catch up on everyone's journals and such, but if you comment I'd love to hear what's going on in your lives - whether it's a 10 sentence summary of your life since we last talked or something that's been bugging you lately. 

As tradition seems to dictate, I have an obligatory resolution journal and a bit of reflection on the past year.

Shit guys, another year in the life. I think this has been the year of my life. It really has. The second half of my year in Finland was more amazing than the first, and college has been a hell of a ride as well. Who knew I could have just as much fun in College as I did in Finland?
It really has been an amazing year.
It's hard to put into words how much this past year has meant to me, there are so many events and people that will continue to influence me for the rest of my life.'
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that taking the chance is much more valuable than the pain that could result.

Here are my resolutions for 2013:
1. Teach myself to play guitar. _{(I don't know why this has never been a resolution because I have basically always wanted to learn to play)}
2. Get a job _{(lame resolution, but I'll actually have time this summer and I am tired of being poor)}
3. Be healthier _{(I have recently realized how terribly I eat when I'm at home and it's partly because my mom doesn't keep a good stock of food at the house, but also partly my general laziness because I'm sure I could make something out of half the food we do have.)}
4. Art at least once a month _{(as in a legit art piece, once a month.)}
5. KILL ZOMBIES _{(SURVIVE THE APOCALYPSE.)}
6. CARPE THAT MOTHERFUCKING DIEM _{(I couldn't resist. I really couldn't.)}

And here were last year's resolutions:
1. art improvement _{(So, this is hard to judge, but I'd say general success. You know, up until I went to college and things just kinda stopped.)}
2. Fluency in Finnish _{(okay, I'll admit this was a failure. a complete failure.)}
3. experience life every day, these exact situations will never happen again and many of these people you will never see again. _{(another hard one to judge, but as far as this goes, I don't really have any regrets and I've been doing pretty sell at this whole carpe diem thing.)}
4. be who I want to be _{(doing pretty well at this.)}
5. complete a chapter in a comic _{(still having trouble with this one)}

and that is my keeping-the-tradition-new-years-journal. Have a lovely new year and hopefully we'll be seeing each other more often in 2013! <3

Okay, as you all might know, winter break approaches!
Hopefully in this time I will be doing art.
More specifically, that thing I did. Hunajata. Remember that? with the hockey player?

Yeah, I am going to do that.
I am going to finish drawing the prologue.

As far as other art things go, they are mostly nonexistent. Other than a few school doodles there really isn't anything.

I might be posting some things I painted from Finland.

the shit hit the fan sort of thing. (and for some reason it keeps getting flung at the fan.) (that makes my friends a bunch of apes? damn.)

I have actually been watching Doctor Who. It is beautiful.
Also the Walking Dead. man.

other than that. I have a relatively average college life. (other than that I think I'm one of the few people on my campus that hasn't been drunk off my ass.)

I wouldn't say I'm swamped with college stuff, but between being with friends, working, school, various random activities and not really having anything to art with other than scrap paper and colored pencils, I haven't been getting much done art-wise.

on the other hand, I've read more plays in the past 2 weeks than I've probably even gone to in my life.

whether or not that's saying a lot, I don't know.

So, I wouldn't expect a lot of activity here, especially with the general shit of this internet, I haven't really been here or tumblr in the past 2 weeks. (I don't even know if there's anything else that's gone generally neglected)

I might start a different sort of comic thing traditionally, but I'll have to see about getting a sketchbook or paper in general before that happens.

I'll just give you a quick update on me, I now have gauges. I literally put them in today, so they're baby gauges. (I haven't talked to my mom about this. my life bro.)
I think part of me is just thinking since it's college it's the only time in my life where I can take up whatever style I want and no one can give a shit. So I'm doing that.
(I am also thinking of getting some ink and getting one of those fluffhawks. That might be a little extreme for me though.)

I might decide to change my major, currently my plan is International Relations, but who knows. My original plan was also a focus in Russian, but this school offers Arabic, which would actually be fucking awesome. and possibly way more useful.

AND GROUPS MAN, I'M GOING TO START CAPOEIRA which is like brazilian fight-dancing and I'm going to be in ZOMFG, our zombie fighting guild. and I'll go to other groups when I have time but those are the main ones I'm excited for.

I'm going to be on hiatus, I haven't gotten a chance really to even check my messages. I'll try and come back to keep up with activity, but as far as looking at art I think that's too much for this internet to handle.
